When I was growing-up the career services offered at my school/university were not the best. It was the usual mass/high-level career advisory, that is prevalent in many places even today. Since I had absolutely no clue what I wanted to do with my life, I went with what the majority of people were doing at the time and completed a masters degree, specialising in finance. I then worked for a few years in areas such as equity research, investment banking, capital markets, commercial banking and operations. The experience was fabulous and the learning was amazing.

The career services offered was much better than usual and I went through a few sessions, some career assessments and a bit of introspection. Among other things, the output was pointing at the field of HR and a need to help people in some way. However, I thought that was too far removed from my past work experience and the idea seemed too alien, so I left it at that. Therefore, after completing the degree I still wasn’t sure of what I really wanted to do and like many others in the same boat, became a management consultant.

Using an affiliate product is a great way to start out because it won’t cost you anything and you don’t need to develop your own product. So before you pick an affiliate product, you need to do your research and determine the demand for the product, how much competition there is and what kind of market share the product has. While you are looking at different products, keep in mind what the needs, the wants and the expectations of your potential customers. If your affiliate product doesn’t meet their needs, wants and expectations, they will go to your competitor and buy from them.

You can do searches on Google, go out to Ebay and Amazon to see if there are a lot of products for sale in a particular niche. If there are a lot, chances are there is a demand for the product. If it is hard to find any products for sale, there may not be a lot of demand for the product. Market share or level of competition means the ratio of your brand sales versus the total market sales. In order to make money selling your product, you need to choose a niche product where you have a chance of developing a strong presence. If the niche is overly competitive, you will have to work very hard to make money.

Communication with existing and potential customers is the most important thing for all business organizations. Today we have very little time to listen or read about the different special offers, discounts or some new product or service. We are not ready to spare sometime talking with an individual if its not that important. In such a tie where time is the most precious thing marketing through electronic and print medium is not a very good idea. Nowadays people are gadget freak and they always carry something or the other with them. Mobiles are perhaps the only gadgets in the world, which is carried by a large section of the world population. Mobile Marketing is thus adjudged to be one of the best ways of communicating with the customers. No need of sending agents to every customer or the customers doesn’t have to come to the office every time when they want to know about some special offer, product or service. One SMS or text message is enough to convey the required information to the entire target audience.

Mobile Marketing is primarily done in two ways. SMS marketing and text messaging are the most preferred forms of Mobile Marketing. The need to reach out to several customers at the same time on a single instruction has facilitated the invention of SMS marketing. SMS marketing has only one limitation. The content has to be within 160 words. Strangely advertisers believe this to be a merit of SMS marketing approach. The information conveyed through this kind of marketing has to be precise and very focused. Moreover the advertisers don’t need to have a big budget for this kind of promotional activity. A well-planned marketing strategy will always fetch good results. The case is same with Mobile Marketing as well. Message reaches several people within the shortest span of time.
